Installing the Agent

Step-by-step instructions for installing the PeakDesk agent on Windows, macOS, and Linux devices.

Windows Installation

Supported on Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit).

  1. Download the Installer: Log in to your dashboard, navigate to the "Devices" tab, and click "Add Device". Select "Windows" to download the `.msi` installer.
  2. Run the Installer: Double-click the downloaded file. You may need administrator privileges to proceed.
  3. Follow the Wizard: Click "Next" through the installation steps. The agent will automatically register with your organization using the embedded token.
  4. Verification: Once finished, the PeakDesk service will start automatically. You should see the device appear in your dashboard within 5 minutes.

macOS Installation

Supported on macOS 12 (Monterey) and newer.

  1. Download the Package: From the "Add Device" modal in your dashboard, select "macOS" to download the `.pkg` file.
  2. Install: Open the package and follow the prompts. You will be asked for your system password.
  3. Permissions: You may be prompted to allow PeakDesk to access system events or disk access. Please grant these permissions for full functionality.

Linux Installation

Supported on Ubuntu 20.04+, Debian 11+, and Fedora 35+.

curl -fsSL https://pkg.peakdesk.com/install.sh | sudo bash

Run the above command in your terminal. You will be prompted to enter your Organization ID, which can be found in your dashboard settings.
