Device Not Showing Up
What to do if you've installed the agent but the device isn't appearing in your dashboard.
Give it a Moment
After installation, it can take up to 5 minutes for the device to register and appear in your dashboard.
The agent needs to perform an initial system scan and establish a secure connection before it becomes visible.
Check Service Status
Ensure the PeakDesk service is actually running on the device.
Windows
- Open Services.msc.
- Look for PeakDesk Agent Service.
- Ensure the status is Running. If not, right-click and select "Start".
macOS / Linux
Run the following command in terminal:
sudo systemctl status peakdesk-agent(For macOS, check LaunchDaemons)
Incorrect Organization ID
If you installed the agent manually (especially on Linux), verify that you entered the correct Organization ID.
If the ID was incorrect, the device may have registered to a non-existent organization. You will need to uninstall and reinstall the agent with the correct ID.
