The PeakDesk agent is designed to be lightweight and unobtrusive. However, in rare cases, you might notice increased resource utilization.
High CPU Usage
If the agent is consuming significant CPU:
- Initial Scan: High usage is normal for a few minutes immediately after installation or a restart as the agent indexes installed software.
- Conflict: Check if another monitoring tool or antivirus is scanning the PeakDesk agent's activity, causing a loop.
High Disk Usage
The agent writes logs locally for troubleshooting.
- Log Rotation: We automatically rotate logs to prevent them from filling up the disk.
- Debug Mode: Ensure that "Debug Logging" is NOT enabled in your global settings unless you are actively troubleshooting an issue with support.
